Tour merchandise

Merchandise from the Newcastle show. (Thanks @ChrisMcBriarty)

As Erika points out, those coordinates point to 175 Pearl St. in Brooklyn. Geocache location? Copy of the new album hidden there? Anybody want to go search? :)

Also, until it was sold last year, it was part of the Jehovah's Witnesses Watchtower complex. Why are Interpol's new t-shirts listing this location?

22 Songs Only True New Yorkers Will Understand

From Polymic: #6 - 'NYC' by Interpol
"I don't know if the subway "is a porno," as Interpol claims in this song, but I think every New Yorker can relate to hauling home on the subway and feeling a bit lonely after a night out. Plus, nothing can be more maddening than seeing "New York Cares" posters all over the city after you've just had an argument with a taxi driver on why routing through Brooklyn is the quickest way to get to Harlem."

Updates in 2014

I hope to revive this blog for this year's tour and new album release, but I can make no promises. Will do my best as long as time permits, and if that other band doesn't keep me too busy. ;)

Wrapping up recording, mixing in Jan.

Last day in the recording studio today. Feeling good about the tracks so far. On to mixing the album next month!-DK

First live shows for 2014 announced!

While the band continues to work on the new album, and make great progress according to the tweets from Daniel, the first live dates of 2014 have been announced.

Interpol will play the Hurricane & Southside festivals next June. Exact dates haven't been announced yet, but will be between the 20th & 22nd.

Paul Banks to release new solo album

Pitchfork has the news of a new solo album from Paul: "Interpol frontman Paul Banks released a solo album in 2009 under his alter ego Julian Plenti, titled Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper in 2009. Now, he's at work on a new solo album for Matador that may or may not be released under the Plenti moniker. It's due later this year."

Interpol on Carson Daly tonight

Can't make it to New Orleans tonight for the Interpol show? Well then tune in to Last Call with Carson Daly tonight for 2 more performances from Interpol. The show airs on NBC at 1:35am eastern/12:35am central, right after Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Update: They aired 'Rest My Chemistry' and 'Barricade' from the Oct. 23rd, 2010 show at the Greek Theatre. Paste magazine has the video.
